Thank you for visiting our website! Our names are Matt and Georgia, the creative husband and wife team behind Character Campers. We run our business from our base in Essex and provide beautiful and unique campervan conversions across Essex, East Anglia and beyond.
Our work is driven by our passion, competitive nature and dedication to our craft. Every project is individual and we love nothing better than embracing a new design challenge, constructing unique campervans to match the ideas of our clients, and building incredible campervan conversions that bring travel freedom and a breath of fresh air.
We met through our mutual love of exquisite design and the free-spirited campervan lifestyle, and have worked together for over 10 years building on our ethos of personal service, design excellence and outstanding craftsmanship.
Matt (‘The Boss’ as he’d like to be known!) brings over 27 years of experience in graphic design and the signage industry. Georgia loves creative design – almost as much as Matt – and brings an exacting eye for detail and a flair for bespoke and innovative design to every project.
Together, we are the ultimate team and work together creating imaginative, high performing campervan conversions that provide outstanding comfort and individuality.
We believe that everybody should work to live, and we all dream of idealistic holiday destinations and ways to escape from rainy summers and ice-cold winters. However, when we first began working together we recognised that cultivating your own business makes finding time to travel difficult. The time, stress, jet-lag and costs made us think about finding a better way to take time out.
Bert, our VW T5 Transporter, gave us the perfect solution. At the time, Bert was a fully wrapped and half converted works van and marketing resource. We started working on completing Bert to take him on awe-inspiring road trips across France, Switzerland and Italy.
Travelling on your schedule and having the luxury of exploring new places on a whim is highly addictive. Being so close to the beauty and freedom of the outdoors gave us an increasing appetite to take in the rolling valleys, mountain passes and secluded coastlines both at home and abroad. We have never looked back.
Next, along came Flo! We found that creating campervan conversions was the perfect amalgamation of our skills, and wanted to create a business that shared this joy with other people, whilst providing an outstanding personal service.
Flo gave us fresh inspiration, and Character Campers evolved from these build experiences. We now work alongside our highly skilled team, who each specialise in their area of campervan conversion expertise.
Our fully equipped workshop enables us to custom make everything in-house, and our experience in the industry allows us to source every material and product from the best quality manufacturers and brands. We never sacrifice quality, and construct every campervan conversion with comfort, safety and style in mind.
